Dow College of Pharmacy was established in 2007. It was based on the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences The college is a distinguished and well renowned entity established under the umbrella of Dow University of Health Sciences and recognized by Higher Education Commission (HEC).

Research Interest

Dr Riffat Yasmin started her teaching career as a Lecturer at JUW and completed her MPhil (Pharmaceutics) from the University of Karachi in 2007. She was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2007 at JUW and served in the same position till January 2010. During her services at JUW, she was entitled to the Best Faculty in the convocation 2009. She also served as a student mentor, evening program incharge of Pharm D, examination incharge, and coordinator of the clinical internship program at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and Ziauddin Hospital Karachi. She has been appointed as an external examiner for postgraduate students at Karachi University and an examiner for undergrads at different universities in Karachi. She also served the university in organizing seminars and participated in student extra-circular activities. In February 2010, she joined Dow College of Pharmacy as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics. Besides teaching (Undergrad and post-grad programs) and research activities, she also served as a student mentor and pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical quality management lab incharge. She completed her PhD (Pharmaceutics) in 2018. She has also been entitled to HEC approved scholarship for the post-grad program. Her research interests include formulation design, evaluation, optimization pharmacokinetics (pk) and bioequivalence studies, clinical pharmacy, and pharmaceutical care.
