School of Dental Care Professionals


The concept of four-handed dentistry has been given much importance with the development of improved care in clinical practice and has modernized and evolved in the past few years. This development has led to the discovery of the School of Dental Care Professionals. It is approved and recognized by Higher Education Commission Pakistan as a degree-awarding institute.

History


Dow University of Health Sciences established the School of Dental Care Professionals (SDCP) in 2007. Initially, the school started 2-year diploma programs in Dental Hygiene and Technology under Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan Institute of Oral Health Sciences. Later, in 2010 the school upgraded to offer 4-year BS degree programs in line with the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan guidelines. The two sub-specialties of Dental Care Professionals (DCP) that this school offers Bachelor of Sciences (BS) Degrees are Dental Hygiene and Dental Technology.
