Student Life

The School of Dental Care Professionals is an active participant and member of the Dow Literary and Debating Society. Debate competition among campuses of Dow University students is one of the most enjoyable events. These competitions are a part of healthy and active participation where students talk about their topic of interest and are encouraged to share their thought and opinions. These competitions are organized on Independence Day as part of the 14th August celebration, where students get involved in healthy conversations and debates.

The students of the School of Dental Care Professionals take an active part in debate competitions and have won numerous competitions. Students from various departments participate and compete with each other. The talent show is also organized by Dow University, where students display nonacademic skills, including singing, dancing, drama, and humor. Our students participated and won the competition. Dow University students set up the talent show to raise money and contribute to the cause of Tuberculosis.

They have performed and participated in contributing towards the cause. Our students actively participate in sports competitions inter-university and with other universities, including volleyball, basketball, badminton, and football. Every year these competitions take place, and students are encouraged to show participation with full enthusiasm. Students have won and participated in several competitions and learned teamwork and peer support while enjoying the events.

Community visits are an essential component of the course for the professionals enrolled in the course. There are numerous community projects where students of the School of dental care professionals have participated and helped arrange gift hampers for street children and orphanages. Under the guidance and supervision of the department of community dentistry, DIKIOHS students have visited numerous communities and learned how to operate and work in community settings.

Dental Hygiene Students of Dental Care Professionals have participated in an awareness program conducted by the Department of Community Dentistry DIKIOHS under the project named Diabetes periodontitis Trial project, where Dental hygienists in teams worked with BDS students and delivered oral hygiene instructions. These community visits, along with other students, help build teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills.
