The Pharmacy is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and offers a range of services, including:

Inpatient Care Pharmacy Service

  • 24/7 working under supervision of qualified pharmacists

Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Services

Oncology Pharmacy Services

  • Dispensing under supervision of qualified and credentialed pharmacists.

  • Mixing and dispensing in most ready to use form of chemo drugs including IV, IT, PO and other routes

Clinical Pharmacy Services

  • Qualified and credentialed pharmacists conduct multidisciplinary Clinical rounds in key high risk wards (e.g. ICUs, Oncology, Transplant, Peads).
  • Overview patient profile and intervene in drug related problems through phramacotherapeutic recommendations.
  • Managing KPIs of clinical pharmacy e.g. renal dose adjustment, antibiotic stewardship, TDM, IV to PO switch etc.
  • Managing clinical rotations of Pharm-D students of Dow College of Pharmacy.

Non-sterile Compounding Pharmacy Services

  • Compound a wide array of non-sterile preparations.
  • Dispensing under supervision of qualified pharmacist
  • Maintaining optimum storage & safety requirements for drugs & supplies

  • Pharmacist intervention to avoid prescription/administration errors

Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Services

  • Compound a wide array of sterile preparations.

  • Mixing and dispensing in most ready to use form of IV antibiotic and other IV admixtures to admitted patients

Centralized In-Patient Surgical Distribution

  • Pharmacist command on surgical supply services.

Pharmacy Supply Chain and Distribution Services

  • Plans, manages, and coordinates all activities related to the sourcing and procurement of necessary materials and supplies needed to meet the changing levels of product demand
  • Maintaining an uninterrupted flow of medicines purchasing & distribution of supplies
  • Overseeing the ordering and packaging process
  • Planning medicine/surgical supplies delivery timetables.
  • Ensuring stores have enough stock to meet demand
  • Inventory and expiry management

EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT

On the Job Pharmacy Training Program (1 year)

  • The training program is designed to induct fresh graduates with min. CGPA 3.0 from all over universities and college of pharmacy in Pakistan.
  • It is a structured learning experience intended to provide comprehensive exposure to health system pharmacy practice.
  • Approximately 15 students are annually selected after aptitude test followed by interview of successful candidates.
  • The responsibilities range from custody of drugs to more specialized tasks such as patient counseling, drug information, sterile and non-sterile compounding, point of care pharmacy practice, etc. under supervision of qualified pharmacist. S/he makes sure that in each step patient safety & rights are given paramount importance.
  • Trainee Pharmacists completing this program will be capable of conducting their practice with 
    a high level of maturity and leadership, and be able to perform practice-related projects.

Pharmacy Observer ship Program– (4 weeks)

  • The orientation program is designed for Pharmacy undergraduates from all over universities and colleges of Pharmacy in Pakistan.
  • It gives an insight into the day-to-day responsibilities of Pharmacists working in a tertiary care healthcare set up in their respective specialties.
  • It’s a 4-week program repeating every month for a whole year.
  • Students enrolled in 8th semester & onwards of Pharm-D can apply.
  • Under the guidance and supervision of registered pharmacist, the observer shall gain the experience of ambulatory care pharmacy, In- patient care pharmacy, solid organ transplant pharmacy, emergency pharmacy, clean room pharmacy, surgical distribution and clinical pharmacy.
