Institute of Bio Medical Sciences

The Institute of Bio Medical Sciences has been established for MPhil and PhD students who are interested in the key areas of Bio Medical Sciences. The Institute has developed the modular format to allow a greater range of options within the program to meet the requirements of medically trained personnel who wish to pursue a teaching and research career in the medical and allied health sciences.

  • The IBMS is going to hold its 35th MPhil Thesis defense examination for the candidate of Dr. Urooj Fatima Discipline of Anatomy and Thesis Title: ” Anatomic: Molecular Variations Myelomeningocele in relation to VANGL1 gene ” on Saturday, 12th May, 2018. ​ ​
  • The IBMS hold its 34th MPhil Thesis defense examination for the candidate of Dr. Amtul Quddos Discipline of Pathology (Histopathology) and Thesis Title: ” Epstein Barr Virus (EBV) Detection with Exact Characterization of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma: A Study of Fixed Tissue Using Immune-Histochemical Markers and PCR “ on Saturday, 28th April, 2018. ​
  • The IBMS hold its 32nd MPhil Thesis defense examination for the candidate of Dr. Ali Asghar, Discipline of Pharmacology, and Thesis Title: “Prophylactic Efficacy of a combination of Ascorbic acid and α-Tocopherol on Nephrotoxicity Induced by Doxorubicin in rats” on Saturday, 07th October, 2017.
  • The IBMS runs Journal Club Session once in a week for the MPhil & PhD students with the objective to enhance the students’ art of literature search, ability to formulate a research question and presentation skills.
  • The IBMS hold its 33rd MPhil Thesis defense examination for the candidate of Dr. Sumera, Discipline of Pharmacology, and Thesis Title: “Pharmacogenomics: Exploring CYP2C9*3 Variant in Sulfonylurea Treated Type II Diabetic Patients” on Saturday, 13th January, 2018.
