This department was founded in 2019 as a result of a restructuring of the Institute of Business and Health Management at the University and got its approval of existence from the competent authorities of the Dow University of Health Sciences that included the Academic Council, the Syndicate and the Senate of the University in 2022.

This department is versatile as well as interdisciplinary as it includes courses from Social Sciences and its Allied part includes courses related to Arts, Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Sciences. This department focuses on courses like Pakistan Studies, Islamiat, English, History, Political Sciences, Psychology, Sociology International Relations, Social Psychology, Mathematics (all levels), Information Systems, etc.
