Message by Director, Prof Dr Syed Imran Mehmood, Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi.

On behalf of the Dow Institute of Health Professional Education (DIHPE), I, as the director of the Institute, welcome you to Dow University of Health Sciences.

It gives me great pleasure to write these few lines. As Dow University stands on this historic occasion of establishing the first ever public sector health professional education institute in Pakistan, I am deeply humbled and honored to serve as its founding director. Here, the faculty and staff are dedicated to teamwork, academic excellence and high quality faculty training.

We are very grateful to the Almighty for what we have achieved in the past one year and what the institute continues to achieve on the daily basis. DIHPE expends many resources, time, thought and energy on training the teachers, postgraduates and now even the undergraduates have been included in order to be benefitted by the scope of its activities.

We expanded because we are committed to the teaching mission and comprehensive development of the competent physicians in this challenging and ever-changing healthcare environment. We provide the infrastructure, support and guidance related to Health Professional Education to help you move successfully through your career. To achieve that end, we have our fully functional Masters in Health Professions Education (MHPE) in place as well. The MHPE has both distance learning and on campus components.

I might not be able to capture the essence of our institute in a few words or webpages. Therefore, I encourage people to visit us in person. We hope that you will find something contributive to advance in your professional career within the timeframe suiting your professional commitments.
