The Department of Oral Biology at Dow Dental college is currently involve in educating first year students enrolled in 4 year bachelor of dental surgery program.
The oral Biology curriculum involves a wide range of topics like Development, structure, form and function of the oral cavity and the associated structures. Teaching is also concerned with gross and histological features of oral cavity and related structures. Students are taught about Tooth Morphology and Occlusion along with their function and clinical relevance.
Our teaching methodologies include traditional lectures, tutorials, group discussions and practical sessions. Problem based learning is also used to enhance student’s learning. The department provides students the best learning facilities in the form of models, charts, LED and microscope for visualization of oral hard and soft tissues.
