Medical Technology is a vital part of the entire Health Care System. This professional field comprises the challenges and rewards of medicine and surgery and deals with the technical aspects of the same. Our program provides undergraduate and postgraduate training programs in these fields for students pursuing their careers in Allied Health Sciences. Medical technologists are vital members of the Health Care System. They are an eminent professional resource of the health care team, who play an active role in medical institutions, hospitals, physicians' offices, diagnostic centers, and other health care facilities in public and private sectors.

Research Interest

My research focuses on infectious diseases and antibiotic resistance, phenotypic and molecular characterization of particularly clinically isolated bacteria, and phylogenetic analyses of viruses using bioinformatics tools. Other research interests include investigating the effectiveness of natural compounds, synthetic molecules, and synergistic effects in combating microbial growth and biofilm formation.

  • Fully funded and Travel Grant Award for ASM 52W, Workshop on “Completing 52 weeks of Biosafety” held on 15-17 December. 2017 at Bangkok, Thailand.
  • ASM 52W: “Applied Biosafety” workshop on 8-10 March 2017 at Dubai.

  • Attended the training of trainer (TOT) under the Faculty Development Program by Sindh HEC from 22 to 31 May 2023 at Karchi, Pakistan
  • Fully funded and Travel Grant Award for Workshop on Laboratory Diagnosis of Candida auris and Laboratory Safety from 22-24 June 2022. Organized by the Centre for Environmental & Occupational Health (CEOH) and National Institute of Health (NIH). Venue: Islamabad
  • Fully funded and Travel Grant Award for ASM 52W, Workshop on: “Laboratory Emergency Response and Preparedness” held on 30 June-1 July 2017 at Islamabad, Pakistan.
