Dow Institute of Medical Technology

Medical Technology is a vital part of the entire Health Care System. This professional field comprises the challenges and rewards of medicine and surgery and deals with the technical aspects of the same. Our program provides undergraduate and postgraduate training programs in these fields for students pursuing their careers in Allied Health Sciences. Medical technologists are vital members of the Health Care System. They are an eminent professional resource of the health care team, who play an active role in medical institutions, hospitals, physicians' offices, diagnostic centers, and other health care facilities in public and private sectors.

Research Interest

Cardiovascular Pharmacology, Drugs acting on the reproductive system, Animal drug testing, Neuropharmacology

My research interest lies in utilizing rat models to investigate the therapeutic potential of natural compounds in various physiological and pathological conditions. With expertise in neuropharmacology and reproductive pharmacology, I focus on understanding the mechanisms underlying the efficacy of these compounds. For instance, I have explored the role of cepharanthine as an anti-atherosclerotic agent in rats, shedding light on its potential application in cardiovascular health. Additionally, my work involves comparative analysis of antioxidant, antidiabetic, and analgesic activities of plant extracts like Callestemon viminalis L. and Alcea rosea L., providing insights into their pharmacological properties. Furthermore, my research extends to exploring the neuroprotective effects of substances like shark fish oil in preventing memory impairment, as well as investigating the potential of Momordica charantia L. fruit and seed extract in restoring ovarian function in conditions like polycystic ovarian syndrome. These endeavors not only deepen our understanding of the intricate interplay between natural compounds and biological systems but also pave the way for the development of novel pharmacological interventions.
