Sensory Re-integration Department

Introduction

The department of Learning Disorders Services, was established in March 2013 along with the Autism Unit. Together we comprise the Centre for Child Development. We cater to children with ADD, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Severe Language Disorders, Learning Disorders, Down syndrome, Sensory Integration Disorders, Developmental Coordination Disorders, Global Developmental Disorders, and Intellectual Disorders. We treat ambulatory children from 2 to 12 years of age.

Services

Screening and Standardized tests are administered upon initial evaluation. Documentation is an ongoing process. We have developed a Sensory Integration Clinic for children that have difficulty in processing movement and tactile sensations, or who may have limitations in body awareness and motor planning ability. For children with school related problems we work with an array of visual perceptual problems as well as writing problems.
