Biochemistry is one the most (if not the most) fundamental subjects in life sciences. For dental students, it paves the way for Pharmacology and then Medicine in subsequent years of BDS. Unlike medical students who study Biochemistry for two years, the BDS curriculum covers almost the same syllabus in the first year. It becomes more challenging as other huge subjects like Anatomy (including Histology & Embryology), Physiology and Dental Materials also come into play. At DIKIOHS, we have designed a strategy whereby BDS students (tend to) enjoy Biochemistry throughout their first year rather than taking it as a burden. It is worth mentioning that majority of our students secured a distinction in Biochemistry last year.
