The four aspects of a disease process that form the core of pathology are: the cause of a disease (etiology), the mechanisms of disease development (pathogenesis), the structural, biochemical and molecular alterations induced in cells and tissues by the disease (morphologic, molecular & biochemical changes) and the functional consequences of these changes (clinical significance).
In addition to routine lectures and practical classes, various teaching aids such as tutorials, presentations and small group discussions are used to bring about a sense of competence and confidence among candidates.
