At the Department of Community Dentistry, we are committed to providing basic & advanced oral health knowledge to an individual/a group of people, preventing oral/dental diseases & creates awareness of oral hygiene in the population.

Healthcare in Pakistan is in the midst of massive transformation. Although we cannot predict what healthcare will look like in Pakistan in 10 or 20 years, community dentistry will be increasingly important. Better primary oral health care will lead to healthier people with fewer dental complications and less need for hospitalization and emergency department visits.

The department is dedicated to addressing many of society’s most pressing oral health care challenges by integrating oral health education, prevention and primary clinical care through students ‘teaching and training. The department has a strong tradition of service to the community through community outreach programs focusing on vulnerable, underprivileged, and deprived populations.
