Dow University of Health Sciences celebrated World Oral Health Day on March 20th, 2024, with great enthusiasm. Prof. Imtiaz Ahmed, the Dean of the Dental Faculty, and Prof. Ambrina Qureshi, Chairperson of the Community Dentistry Department, led the event.
During the celebration, Prof. Dr. Jahan Ara Hasan, the Pro Vice-Chancellor, and Dr. Ashar Afaq, the Registrar, highlighted the importance of oral hygiene alongside overall hygiene. Students showcased their creativity through Reels they made on the theme "60-Seconds of Oral Health Promotion". The winning teams received cash awards from Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saeed Quraishy T.I.
The judging panel for the student activity included Prof. Asima Faisal, Prof. Yahya Noori, and Dr. Ashar Afaq. Mr. Syed Tariq Shahid, Director Marketing Department and Pir Muddasir Ali Shah from the Human Resource Department also served as judges.
Special thanks to Dr Elham Talib Kateeb for her message. Dr. Kateeb, an active health researcher and community dental specialist, serves as the Dean of Scientific Research at Al-Quds University. She also holds significant positions in dental organizations, including Chairperson of the Public Health Committee at FDI World Dental Federation and President of the International Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (IADR) Palestinian Section.
