The department is still in its infancy regarding its workforce's total span of emergence and strength. It is still competent enough to handle complicated surgical cases with its full capabilities and dedicated work to run the department smoothly and effectively.
We are running the surgical OPDs on three fixed days of a week with an average of 15 patients by each faculty. Our patients comprise a full range of surgical patients from Hepatobiliary and peri-anal diseases to GI and breast oncology cases. We also offer cutting-edge minimally invasive surgical procedures (ie, Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy, Laparoscopic periumbilical and inguinal hernia repair, Laparoscopic appendectomy, and Laparoscopic stomas).
Department has also been involved in the teachings of 3rd year BDS students on the subject of General Surgery as per HEC rules and curriculum. It includes Lectures (Physical and virtual) as well as clinical rotations in a ward at the bedside or outpatient clinics as per pre-decided rota and monthly timetable schedule.
Department of General Surgery is comprising of two faculty members:
- Dr Munira Abdul Aziz (Assistant Professor/HOD & Incharge of Department)
- Dr Mujeeb Rehman (Senior Registrar)
