Dow Institute of Nursing and Midwifery


Dow University of Health Sciences was established in December 2003. The Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) established the “Dow Institute of Nursing and Midwifery” with the support of the Higher Education Commission, Pakistan (HEC). The foundation laying stone ceremony of the nursing institute was held on June 3rd, 2006 at the Ojha sub-campus of Dow University of Health Sciences. The Chief Guest at the ceremony was Prof Atta Ur Rehman, Advisor Federal Government, and Chairman Higher Education Commission. The completion period of the project was two years while the basic aim of the institution is to fulfill the acute shortage of skilled nurses in the country by providing quality education and hands-on nursing skills.

Overview


A comprehensive mix of theoretical courses, practical training, and clinical experiences. Courses may include Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmacology, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Maternal and Child Health Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Nursing Research, Ethics, and Leadership.
