Overview
Post FCPS 1 year training in subspecialty of Women Imaging. Offers training dedicated to breast, obstetric and gynecological imaging, with special focus on breast intervention.
Admission Criteria
- Trainees must have completed a four year residency in Diagnostic Radiology at an institution accredited by the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) and must have cleared FCPS I and II in Diagnostic Radiology or any equivalent examination.
- Maximum age limit is 40 years however; preference will be given to freshly passed FCPS candidates.

CURRICULUM:
- The program offers the opportunity for fellows to perform, conduct, consult and interpret, under supervision the procedures in Women's imaging. The procedures shall include Mammography, CT, MRI HSG, and ultrasound of the breast, axilla, obstetrics, and female pelvis. It also includes gynecological and breast onco imaging.
- Concerning invasive procedures, fellows will be given a chance to observe an appropriate number of such a procedure performed by the Women imaging faculty and later on followed by independently performing such procedures under graded supervision.
CLINICAL COMPONENT:
- The Women imaging fellowship program provides a sufficient volume and variety of patient's so that the fellows gain adequate experience in all aspects of radiological examinations, procedures and interpretations. The program provides an adequate volume and variety of invasive procedures as core biopsies, LIGA clip insertion, wire localization and bracketing procedures
DIDACTIC COMPONENT:
In addition to clinical procedures, the Women imaging fellowship program offers interdepartmental conferences/meetings in which a fellow will participate regularly. There is a fortnightly breast oncology tumor board during which problem cases are discussed with input from all clinical services. Fellows will review diagnostic reports generated for content, confidence level, grammar, and style.
RESEARCH ACTIVITY OF THE FELLOW:
The fellow is required to submit at least one original research project leading to a published paper in a peer reviewed journal.

Career Prospects
Dedicated women imaging radiologists are needed as breast surgery is expanding, along with alarming increase in breast disease in Pakistan.
Also dedicated gynae and obs, Radiologists are needed to cater to special needs of clinical consultants.
