Career Prospects
Dentistry, as a profession, places an individual in a unique place in society. As a student, a dental surgeon gets to treat patients instead of just observing. Dental surgeon can also start their solo career much earlier than other medical associates.
One can choose multiple career pathways—these range from private practice to academic positions in teaching institutes or a combination of both. As an interim, one may pursue a specialization or a research qualification in basic sciences. Many prefer government jobs or civil services, while some find themselves in the pharmaceutical industry. I have seen all to be doing well. Therefore, in my opinion, the opportunities are endless.
More importantly, a career in dentistry can provide you with a balanced lifestyle between your work, family, and social life. In addition, dentistry allows you to be your boss if you choose to do so by starting your practice.
