The Directorate of Research was incepted at the time of the establishment of the Dow University of Health Sciences to promote research and innovation within the university. Whereas, the Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization was established in 2011 and it continues to capitalize on the future, aiding research advances to sustain Dow University’s reputation as a distinguished public university.

  • Visiting Clinical Senior Lecturer (2013-2022) at the Institute of Health & Wellbeing, University of Glasgow, United Kingdom.
  • Appointed as an adjunct faculty for the Khyber Medical University (2022).
  • Best University Teacher Award by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan -2016.
  • Award “50 for 50” of “Future Cancer Research Leader” by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and participated at Empowering, France 2016.
  • The Global competition of young scientists to attend the 64th Lindau Nobel Laureates Meeting, at Lindau, Germany 2014.
  • The “Early Career Award” from International Society of Behavioral Medicine, 2014
  • Scholarship by Groningen University for a research project in Netherlands for two weeks
  • Scholarship for Master and PhD studies from the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan at the University of Glasgow

 

Major Research Grants/Projects:

  • Research Institute, National Institute of Health (NIH) on the study titled "Development of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) Management   App for Pakistani Pregnant Women: A Randomized Control trial to evaluate the impact of App use on maternal health and pregnancy outcomes as Principal Investigator for 2.1 million (PKR) in 2022
  • Mental health capacity-building for primary healthcare providers to promote good health & well-being funded by Conservation Food and Health Foundation (USA) for USD 20,000 in 2022.
  • Metabolic Syndrome and Risk for Cardiovascular Disease in Apparently Healthy Subsets of Pakistani Adult Population funded by Health Research Institute and Sindh Higher Education Commission of Pakistan for PKR 6 million in 2022.
  • Assessment of Extent of Rational Drug Use among Patients and Healthcare Providers by Multinational Pharmaceuticals as Co-Principal Investigator for 1.2 million (PKR) in 2021.
  • The Burden of MultIMorbidity, its Patterns and Consequences on Health and Well Being: The IMPACT Study.  Funded by Multinational Pharmaceuticals Company as Principal  Investigator in 2019.
