Dow University of Health Sciences Successfully Launches e-Doctors 2.0 Certification CourseDow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) proudly announces the successful launch of the e-Doctors 2.0 Certification Course—a transformative, self-paced online training program designed to revitalize clinical competencies in primary care through a comprehensive Family Medicine approach.

Developed in technical partnership with EduCast and generously supported by the Islamic Development Bank, this initiative is part of a broader national effort to advance digital health and strengthen primary healthcare systems across Pakistan.

The launch ceremony, held on May 14, 2025, at the Karachi Press Club, was graced by Interim Vice Chancellor Prof. Jahan Ara Hasan and attended by all course committee members. The event marked a significant step forward in DUHS’s mission to provide accessible, high-quality, digitally-enabled medical education.

The course was chaired under the visionary leadership of Prof. Jahan Ara Hasan, whose commitment to academic excellence and primary care advancement has been instrumental in the program’s success.

Pfau Civil Hospital, recently hosted a highly informative session titled “Evacuation Protocols in Case of War/Disaster” at the Department of Dermatology. Organized under the leadership of Associate Professor Dr. Humaira Talat, Head of the Department of Dermatology, the session was conducted by Dr. Sidra Tariq and focused on critical strategies and preparedness measures required during emergencies such as armed conflicts or natural disasters.The session emphasized the importance of being both practically equipped and mentally prepared to respond effectively in times of crisis. Participants gained valuable insights into evacuation planning, resource management, and institutional coordination. The presentation was well-received by attendees, who appreciated its relevance and practical applicability, reinforcing both personal and organizational resilience in the face of unforeseen events.

Dow Skills Development Centre (DSDC) successfully conducted the Clinical Support Skills Professional Certificate – Open House on Saturday, 10th May 2025, in collaboration with the Dow Institute of Medical Technology (DIMT) and Dow Diagnostic Reference & Research Laboratory (DDRRL).The event received an overwhelming response, with 170+ participants from various academic and professional backgrounds. This open house was designed to give potential trainees a firsthand look into the Clinical Support Skills Professional Certificate course, highlighting the practical, hands-on training, real-world exposure, and academic excellence that set this program apart in preparing individuals for careers in healthcare support and medical administration.

Awareness Session at Dar ul Sukun by DIMT StudentsAs part of the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation course and commitment to community engagement, students from Dow Institute of Medical Technology (DIMT) visited Dar ul Sukun orphanage to conduct an awareness session on choking management, basic CPR, first aid, and hand hygiene.

Using training manikins and visual aids, students educated children and staff on essential life-saving techniques and hygiene practices. Alongside these efforts, they also distributed food and essential supplies to create a warm and joyful environment.

This meaningful initiative, supported by DIMT faculty, embodies the empathetic spirit and social responsibility of future healthcare professionals while supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals:
