Reflecting on a Successful Journey!

Karachi Grammar School (KGS) has successfully completed the DUHS Summer Internship Programme! The internship, spanned four weeks from 12th June to 7th July 2023, offering Students a valuable opportunity to explore the medical and healthcare industry in-depth. Throughout the internship, students were exposed to various aspects of the healthcare field, Gaining practical insights and hands-on experience that will undoubtedly prove invaluable in their future careers. The programme was meticulously designed to provide a comprehensive Understanding of different healthcare domains, helping students make informed decisions About their academic and professional paths.

In the second week, hosted at the College of Biotechnology, students had the opportunity to explore vaccine development, plant tissue culture, molecular biotechnology, and fruit fly research. Engaging in hands-on training and laboratory experiments, students honed their practical expertise in these cutting-edge biotechnological practices, fostering a deeper understanding of the field.

Furthermore, students delved into healthcare ethics and legal issues, gaining insights through interactive case studies facilitated by DUHS legal professionals.

As a token of appreciation for their hard work and commitment, all students presented with globally recognized certificates. We hope that the DUHS Summer Internship Programme has been a transformative experience, empowering each participant with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make a positive impact in the world of healthcare.

 

The Digital Learning Centre conducted a series of 14 workshops from February 27 – March 14, 2023

The main agenda of the training program was to equip faculty members with effective and engaging teaching practices, digital learning strategies, and video lecture recording on PowerPoint 365, and course creation on a Learning Management System (LMS).

Experienced trainer Syed Huzair from the Pakistan Society of Training and Development conducted the training programmes, which are part of an initiative led by the DUHS HR

Directorate and implemented by the Dow Skill Development Centre. The goal of the initiative is to uplift patient care and workplace happiness levels at DUHS.

 

Health and Wellbeing at the Workplace On Tuesday, 21st February 2023

was held to promote good health and hygiene among DUHS employees. The session was conducted by Prof. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal Hydrie, Dr. Muhammad Yahya Noori, and Dr. Sumaria Nasim, under the leadership of Dr. Kashif Shafique, Principal SPH, and Syed Farhan Mahmoud, Director HR DUHS.

 

Impact of Communication on Employee Engagement for DUHS staff on February 11, 2023.

Experienced trainer Mr. Zeeshan Asif, HR Head at Pakistan Beverages Limited, shared his knowledge on creating a positive work environment, managing employee engagement during tough times, and communicating effectively with employees. Participants learnt best practices for promoting a positive work culture.
